A Game much like basketball was played by the ancient Mayas of mexico. The game of basketball was conceived in the United States Of America in 1891, invented by Dr. James Naismith, an instructor in a college there. He wanted to develop an indoor sport for the winter months when football, soccer, and other outdoor games could not be played.
